Charles James

Executive Director

Charles has specialized in the Senior Living Industry with over 25 years of experience. His extensive background includes almost every aspect of the senior living industry, primarily as Executive Director at communities in the United States. He is a licensed nursing professional in Pennsylvania, Minnesota, and Georgia, and a licensed Assisted Living Administrator in the state of Florida.

Charles understands the importance of building long lasting and trusting relationships with residents, families and partners.

His true desire is to enhance a positive “home” experience in the senior population.

Jarred Graves

Assistant Executive Director

Jarred joined Providence House in May of 2020. He is the Low Income Housing Tax Credit Specialist for Providence House and brings with him years of experience in business operations, customer service, and facilities/project management.

Jarred graduated from Harvard University in 2011 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science.  He is also certified in Project Management Essentials.

In his free time Jarred enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing pool, and rooting for the Bruins.

Michelle Melaragni

Resident Service Director

She is a Massachusetts native and started her career in nursing over 30 years ago. Her passion has always been caring for others and particularly older adults.

Michelle has been in Long Term care, Skilled Nursing and other Assisted Living during her Nursing career, primarily in a Management position. Michelle enjoys teaching and training staff, along with building a solid team.

Michelle’s philosophy is to treat all the Residents as she would want her parents treated. Its important to Michelle to foster a caring and comfortable environment for all Residents and staff.

Michelle shares her home with her husband Paul, her daughter Gina and her little dog Lucy . They enjoy spending time together, traveling to tropical destinations all over the world.

Colin Campbell

Director of Community Relations

Colin Campbell was born and raised in Milton, Massachusetts and after studying at Bridgewater State University spent the better part of a decade with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the Trial Court as Deputy Criminal Clerk. After leaving the Trial Court, Colin, worked alongside his Uncle in the family funeral business. When the business was sold, Colin began a career in business development and admissions in the substance abuse treatment field and most recently as the Director of Admissions for a nursing and rehabilitation center on Cape Cod.

In his off time, Colin can be found with his dog, Teddy, walking along the beaches of Cape Cod or along the boardwalk at Castle Island in South Boston.

Ruta Pai

Engagement Director

Ruta is very excited to join the team at Providence House. She was born and raised in India and can speak Hindi, Marathi and English fluently. She has been living in Massachusetts for over three years now. She has been in the field of mental health counseling for the past five years. She has worked with assisted living centers back in India as a dance/movement therapy facilitator where she conducted dance/movement therapy-based groups for the residents

Ruta uses her background in mental health counseling, dance/movement therapy and other expressive arts therapy as a way to support the creative expression of elderly with varying abilities and their overall sense of well-being. She says that “the elderly living with various forms of Dementia have their own unique language. Some communicate through movement and music whereas others may communicate through art”. Ruta aims to understand their unique language by tapping into the abundance of resources which oftren lie dormant.

Ruta holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology and she recently graduated with her second Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with specialization in Dance/Movement Therapy from Lesley University, Cambridge. She is also a Registered Dance/Movement Therapist (R-DMT) with the American Dance Therapy Association and is working towards her licensure for the Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).

In her free time, she likes to do Bollywood dancing, painting and spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys exploring new hiking trails and beaches.

Mark Creary

Director of Dining Services

Mark is originally from Jamaica.  He has both education and experience in the business world working as a Chief Finance Clerk for several years. Since 2008, Mark has worked in several health care communities.  His experience spans various positions, starting as a server, moving up to Dining Room Manager.  His success warranted a promotion to Food Services Director, which he has mastered over several years.

Mark is certified in both Servsafe and Allergen Awareness.  Mark achieved his diploma in Hotel and Restaurant Management and has had the pleasure of working with outstanding teams of accomplished chefs and cooks, as well as dependable servers and utility staff.  “The best part of my job is making the residents happy when they come to the dining room for their meals.”

When Mark isn’t managing all the aspects of providing delicious meals for 100 residents, three times a day, he enjoys cooking, fishing, sports of all kinds, keeping up with current events and most of all spending time with his family.

Brian Abamelik

Facilities Director

For the past six years, he worked for a transportation company doing a variety of office and maintenance work.  He has a master’s degree in Business Management.

Brian was born in Ukraine and is fluent in Russian and English.  He is very close to his family and has had several family members living in assisted living communities throughout the Boston area.  He frequently visits them and is well-versed on the needs of residents living in assisted living communities.

Brian was raised in the Brighton area and now resides in Brookline.  In his spare time, he likes to travel and go to the gym.

Colleen Mullaney

Business Office Manager

Colleen Mullaney is the Business Office Director for Providence House. She manages Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, in house Human Resources and more. Colleen graduated from Rhodes College in Memphis, in 2017. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Urban Studies. Throughout her time in Memphis, her primary interest was in the field of affordable housing.

Colleen joined the team at Providence House in July of 2018 as the Tax Credit Specialist. Her role is pivotal in the success of our affordable assisted living programs. In her free time, Colleen likes to read, watch movies and shop! She has really enjoyed working with the senior population and getting to know the staff and residents as well.
